In Wisconsin, energy companies have partnered with Focus on Energy to help 2.8 million customers save $730 million dollars through energy efficiency improvements since 2001.
Within the energy industry there is a wide diversity of careers available. There are skilled craft and administrative positions. Nearly 50 percent of the energy workforce is becoming eligible for retirement in the next few years, opening opportunities for new workers. The Wisconsin energy industry employs approximately 10, 675 people.
The energy industry is changing as society trends toward renewable energy, increased cyber security and smart homes.
